Graduate Studies in Geography and Earth Sciences

Graduate Studies in Geography and Earth Sciences

The School of Earth, Environment & Society offers an exciting range of graduate research opportunities in many research fields. Our School is home to world class facilities; a multidisciplinary research environment; field, laboratory and modeling opportunities; and a highly active graduate student community. We have science and social science faculty who promote a culture of research excellence and scholarly achievement. We offer M.A., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. McMaster University also has direct entry to the Ph.D. program from the undergraduate degree for students with the appropriate requirements.

Students interested in pursuing graduate studiesare encouraged to contact possible graduate faculty supervisors directly before applying. There are no formal fields of specialization within the Master degrees; many students tend to follow studies that reflect the Ph.D. fields.

If you would like more information about our graduate programs, contact our Graduate Programs Academic Assistant, Salomé Santos-Blaguski, at geograd@mcmaster.ca or call (905) 525-9140, ext 23535. McMaster Graduate Scholarship details and deadlines can be found on the Graduate Studies website.
