The School of Earth, Environment & Society offers GIS internships for interested students who excel in GIS courses. To qualify for these internships, students need at least a B+ in relevant GIS courses at the third or fourth year level. These are competitive internships, where the students need to interview for the position (enrolling in GEOG 3MI3 or EARTH SC 3IN3/4IN3 does not guarantee a position will be awarded). Students will gain valuable job experience as well as course credit in either GEOG 3MI3 or EARTH SC 3IN3 / 4IN3. These internships change from year to year. Please watch this page for updates on different internship positions.
Past off-campus internships have included: The Weather Network, EXP Consulting, Royal Botanical Gardens, Hamilton Conservation Authority and Canada Centre for Inland Waters. Past campus internships included: McMaster Institute for Transport and Logistics, Lloyd G. Reeds Map Library, EcoLab and faculty members from Anthropology, Sociology, Geography and Earth Sciences.
